I never really understood the draw of wet wood. It sort of made my skin crawl. But I knew that wooden cooking utensils must have some redeeming value because they’re all I ever saw my Mom use at the stove. Her wooden spoons are now my favorite, well-loved connection to her.
Of course… she was right. She taught me to NEVER use metal utensils on non-stick surfaces as you can scrape and damage the coating. These days, wooden spoons and spatulas are ALL I use on my Calphalon non-stick cookware. If you’re new to the game, do yourself a favor and invest a high quality non-stick pan and a simple wooden spoon or three.
Name them, love them, treat them like your offspring and NEVER PUT THEM IN THE DISHWASHER.
