FLOAT

I usually don’t keep soda in the house, but the remaining Dr. Pepper from my BBQ Pulled Pork recipe was calling my name. (Or, as my brilliant friend, Phoebe over at Simply Beach Blog suggested, Cheerwine!) And since I already feel guilty drinking real soda, why not gild the lily and go all in on a classic dessert? A couple of tips:

  1. Get your soda AND YOUR GLASS really cold before you make these. Put it all in the freezer for a few minutes. This will keep the whole concoction together longer.
  2. Don’t over fill with soda. When the Dr. Pepper (or Cheerwine) and the ice cream get together they’ll fizz all over the place. Ice cream in first, then pour your soda in slowly down the side of the glass, just like a beer.
  3. I’m actually not a liquor person, but you should totally add some vanilla vodka or rum cream or something to this. You just should.
