INSTANT POT SPAGHETTI

Crazy weekend.

Busy Monday.

Hectic week.

Can’t catch up.

Gotta feed them something.

Set it and forget it!

INSTANT POT SPAGHETTI

This is more of a method than a recipe, but it works every time!

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Total Time 20 minutes
Servings 6 people
Author Christy Graves

Ingredients

  • 1-2 pounds ground meat of your choice (optional)
  • whatever veggies you have on hand, chopped (optional)
  • whatever dried or fresh herbs you want to use
  • 1 box dried pasta
  • 1 jar prepared spaghetti sauce

Instructions

  1. Place your meat, veggies and any dried seasonings in the Instant Pot, select the Sauté function. Cook until meat is browned through and veggies have softened.

  2. Turn the pot off.

  3. Place the dried pasta on top of the meat and veggies.

  4. Pour the jar of pasta sauce onto the CENTER of the dried pasta.

  5. Fill the pasta jar with water and pour the water along the outside over the dried pasta. This allows the water to get down into the meat/veggie area and cook the pasta evenly.

  6. Close the lid and SEAL THE VENT.

  7. Select the Manual function and enter half of the lowest time on the box of pasta plus 2 minutes. So if the pasta box says “Cook 10-12 minutes,” use 5 minutes plus 2 for a total of 7 minutes.

  8. When cooking time is up, do a quick release by carefully opening the seal to “venting.” Use a towel as hot steam will be released.

  9. If using fresh herbs or spinach, stir these in at the end of cooking.
